From Redmond, OR to Baker's City, OR

Aug 8th 2009

Skip taking off from the Eagle Crest Resort--> We traveled from the Eagle Crest Resort, just outside of Redmond, OR, 113.2 miles to The Fish House Inn, in Dayville, OR.   <-- Arch and L-E enjoying the scenery

<-- The Shoe Tree along route 126

The landscape was amazing, Arch took about 100 photos along the way.

We got the opportunity to stay in a little bed in breakfast in a nice quiet town. Mike, the owner also has two beautiful Golden Retrievers.  L-E was in love with the place as soon as she got out of the car.

Since we were staying in a house with our own kitchen, I was given the task of cooking dinner.   Although very unexpected, I managed not to poison anyone;).

Rustic and perfect, we would love to come back and spend more time here one day.

On a side note, we forgot to mention that Skip got pulled over in Sisters two days ago… oops.  As we were driving up, Arch casually mentioned how funny that would be if it was Skip, and low and behold… It was!  He was caught “jay walking” it would seem.  Lets hope he doesn’t do that again, considering he got away with a warning.  Skip would also like to say Hi to Mike, who is following us across the US! Hang in there, we're thinking about you!!

Skip leaving early on his way to Baker's City-->  So on we go to Bakers City! Where we will be taking a day off, and resting up for the next leg of our journey.

August 9th 2009

Only another 60 miles!!--> We all made the 111.8 mile trek to Baker's City in good time.  Although we may have taken different routes!  Skip followed the SR7, while Arch and I ended up on the 242.  Both of our journey's were beautiful.  Ours took us along a windier road through the mountains with a rock wall on one side, and a drop off on the other.

Skip is currently enjoying a well deserved day off!  He's finally found a moment to write down his thoughts on his journey so far.  I'll have those posted soon!!!
