The beginning of our Adventure!

This year, with the amazing help of family and friends, I, Skip Bailey, am proud to be a part of the quest towards the cure for Parkinson’s disease.

The need to become a part of this challenge came when my father, Archer Bailey, was diagnosed in 2007.

After he served 3 years in the army, my father was employed as an Air Traffic Controller.  In 1981, Archer, along with 11,000 others, lost their jobs over a union dispute.  My Father took up their fight, and as a union activist, restored jobs to many Air Traffic Controllers, at the expense of his own.  To support the family that he loved, my father took on many different jobs, everything from being a rough neck on oilrigs, to working for his father as a painter.  After 20 years hard labor, and two years before retirement, my father was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease.

This is my chance to support him.

As a proud member of Team Fox, and in honor of my father, I will be Cycling Coast to Coast for Parkinson’s Research.

My journey will start on the west coast in Oregon, and continue 4280 miles to the east coast, finally finishing in Virginia.  I hope to bring awareness of the research and development of new treatments to all those I meet along the way.

Any donation we receive along the way will be given directly to The Michael J. Fox Foundation because we believe our hard work and effort will ultimately shorten the road to a cure.

This challenge is both exciting and inspiring, and I would like to thank everyone that has already shown me so much support.  I would also like to thank in advance all those who support this cause in the future.
